Solar Power For Car

A great way to reduce carbon footprint is solar power for cars. Many manufacturers offer hybrid and solar-powered cars. The Lightyear 0 is an example of a car with solar panels and hybrid systems. Other models include the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Maruti Suzuki, and the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.

Lightyear 0

The Lightyear 0 car with solar power has been in development for a number of years. However, it's still a long way from being ready for the streets. The car is very similar to Tesla Model 0, but there are some important differences. Despite being smaller than the Model 0's battery, it's still much more powerful thanks to its aerodynamic design.

The Lightyear 0 solar car offers a remarkable range of up to 388 miles. It can also reduce the time you spend at the charging station. Lightyear states that a driver can drive for up to seven years in sunny climates without having to plug in their car. In cloudy environments, charging would be necessary after two month.

Sono Motors

Sono Motors began 10 years ago in a Munich garage with the idea that solar power could be used to power a car. The company saw the potential for solar power to increase adoption of electric cars. Germany is home to the majority of those who rent apartments. They are often unable or unwilling to plug their cars in to recharge. The range of a car with solar panels can be significantly extended by adding solar panels.

Sono Motors produced the Sion Solar Car as one of its first solar cars. This battery-electric crossover uses sunlight to produce electricity and increase the car's range. Despite its high-tech design, Sono Motors is not yet ready to begin deliveries of its first vehicle.

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

You can make your Sonata Hybrid eco-friendly by installing a solar roof. Hyundai is not among the first to make use of this new technology. Toyota was the first to use solar panels to cover the roof of their Prius in 2012. Unfortunately, the solar roof was not very successful and only compensated for secondary power requirements. It didn't even increase range.

The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid's solar panels on its roof are extremely efficient. They can produce up to 22.8% the car's electricity needs. This is significantly better than the typical rooftop solar panels, which can only deliver a rate of 1519%. However, panels' efficiency is dependent on many external factors. Dead leaves and tarnished roofings can cause production to drop by as high as 31%.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki believes in renewable energy and the new Manesar-based solar power plant is a good example of this commitment. In 2014, a 1MW-sized solar plant was set up in the area. It was later increased to 1.3MW. The company will be able to generate more than 6.3MW of solar power each year, enough to power Maruti Suzuki's manufacturing plants.

Solar power will replace traditional fossil fuels for Maruti Suzuki's manufacturing facility in Gurugram, India. To provide energy, the carmaker will install photovoltaic panels in carports. The panels will produce clean energy and protect cars from extreme climatic conditions. Currently, Gurugram relies on grid energy and a natural gaz-based captive power plants to provide the necessary manufacturing power.
